With deep, generational roots in Gonzales, I’m not just running for office—I’m running for our future. As a leader who’s spent over 20 years working behind the scenes to deliver real results, I bring a fresh perspective without the baggage of political office. I know how to collaborate, solve problems, and drive smart growth that benefits everyone in our community. Together, we can move Gonzales forward—today and for the next generation—by focusing on what matters: our people, our infrastructure, and the opportunities that lie ahead.
Kemlyn Bailey Lomas is a lifelong resident of Gonzales, Louisiana, with deep generational roots. Born at East Ascension Hospital and educated within the city, she graduated from East Ascension High School, located right across from where she was born. Family is central to Kemlyn’s life—she is the daughter of Vietnam Veteran Promise Bailey, Jr. (deceased) and retired educator Gloria W. Bailey, and the proud mother of two daughters, KoiEles (Jourdan) McDuffie and Kiana (Donovan) Hewitt, cherishing her two sons-in-law.
Though she has traveled extensively—visiting over 15 countries and more than half of the United States—Kemlyn’s heart has always remained in Gonzales. Her experiences have only strengthened her commitment to improving her community through engagement, awareness, and diversification. For Kemlyn, there’s truly no place like home.
Kemlyn Bailey Lomas has spent a lifetime deeply engaged in the Gonzales community, working to make it a better place for everyone. Beyond her extensive roles in state and local government, Kemlyn has consistently volunteered her time and talents, serving as a Commissioner on boards and committees for the City of Gonzales, her faith community, and the nonprofit sector. Her dedication to public service extends beyond her professional work—demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the people of Gonzales.
Kemlyn Bailey Lomas believes that an informed community is an engaged community, and transparency is key to effective leadership. With over 20 years of experience in municipal, parish, and state government administrations, she understands the value of community input and collaboration. Kemlyn is committed to creating an accessible, transparent administration where decisions are made with the community, not for it.
